Universal Phone Tripod Mount

Why buy a phone tripod adapter for <$10 when you could make one yourself for ~$10? I have designed this mount specifically to fit my big phone and then some... my Samsung S20+ fits with plenty of room to spare, so I expect that even the largest phones will have no issues. This thing can be clamped down way beyond the smallest phone that I am aware of, so I expect that it will fit your phone too. It is designed to fit a standard 1/4-20 thread tripod screw using standard SAE nuts, bolts, and washers. The spring is optional, but prevents the upper jaw from falling down while you are inserting the phone. I couldn't find a spring locally that fit quite the way that I wanted it to, so I added an optional bushing to take up the slack in my particular spring. The bushing is not strictly necessary either, depending on what spring you use, if you use one at all. Parts list: -- 3/8-16 Bolt, fully threaded, 5 inches long (press fit into the base) -- 3/8-16 Nut (press fit into the knob) -- 3/8-16 Locknut (this is optional, it keeps the knob from unscrewing all of the way off) -- 3/8 Washer (goes between knob and upper jaw) -- 1/4-20 Nut (press fit into the base) -- 9/16 OD Spring, 0.45 ID, 0.05 wire, 3 inches long (also optional, it keeps the upper jaw from falling down) Ideally, a 3.25 inch spring would be used here, though I imagine that they aren't easy to come by. If the nuts are a bit loose, congratulations, your printer is more accurate than mine. A few carefully placed drops of CA glue will do the trick. Your mileage may vary, use at your own risk, eat your Wheaties, call your mother, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. This was something that I made for a specific need that I have, hopefully some of you will be able to use it also.
