E27 socket LED lamps are notoriously unreliable, often giving out after a relatively short period of use. Some models start to flicker, making them unsuitable for long-term use. Fortunately, these lamps can be easily disassembled and their bulbs reused as programmable RGB indicator lights. These versatile bulbs can be repurposed in various creative ways or used simply as a color-changing mood light. I have successfully utilized this concept as an indicator for incoming physical mail by attaching a WiFi message sender to my mailbox. This setup sends notifications when the post arrives, while another WiFi messenger informs me of the sauna temperature.
