After reworking a comment on the original version, I merged it with another design concept. Once you've fabricated the individual components, insert a skateboard bearing into the base of the bolt. In operation, position the spike on a level surface, push the bolt through the center of the spool, add the nut to the top and tighten until secure. Next, place the spool onto the spike. Feedback or suggestions for enhancement are always welcome.
