Unknown Part for a Plane (?)

The original query came from the Questions section and inquired about constructing a part in Catia. Though I haven't used Catia in years, I believe the process may be similar to SolidWorks. To view my approach, download either the 2017 or 2016 attached models. In both cases, I employed Surface-Sweep2 and Surface-Sweep1 methods to create the lip/ledges around the opening. Please review and share your thoughts on a better solution. Note that these models lack scale and are not fully dimensioned; they merely aim for an accurate visual representation. Four reference photos were posted with the request for assistance.
