Unlocking Puzzle Box

Unlocking Puzzle Box

myminifactory

This design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese sliding puzzle boxes, expertly adapted for three-dimensional printing. Initially conceived as a woodworking project, it has proven surprisingly well-suited for 3D printing. The solution lies in sliding the panels in sequence to unveil the hidden key that unlocks the box. You can also incorporate a hinge if desired; I've used this particular hinge design before - https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-hinge-26534. Challenge your friends to figure out how to access the hidden treasures within by studying the images carefully. Alas, without a functioning camera, I'm unable to showcase either the 3D printed or full-sized wood versions of this design. To assemble the box, super glue is employed not only for holding non-sliding parts in place but also for securing loose panels together. A light sanding may be necessary to achieve smooth panel movement and a snug fit between components.
