The UNSC PROVIDENCE was a short gap measure to bring a heavy hitter in to the fleet game but at a reduced cost and manufacturing time. Used during the battle for earth around 2552 the Providence proved vital in keeping smaller class covenant ships occupied while the fleet focused on the main enemy fleet. The vast size of the Providence class's engines and nacelles allowed the ship to be a stable platform when firing the MAC almost like a orbital MAC platform. Carrying four pelicans a contingent of ODST and marines this ship could provide overwhelming ground support when required. the Providence was fitted with 8 six barreled 250mm revolving automated point defense Gatling turrets and four 460mm duel barreled ship to ground defense guns which could punch holes through covenant corvettes and ground forces, also as with the Paris Class heavy frigate she supported 24 belly missile tubes. This ship was designed from 343 concept art imaged borrowed from the Halo Encyclopedia.
