UP Plus 2 Fan Deflector

UP Plus 2 Fan Deflector

The wind barrier, or fan deflector on my UP Plus 2 has never worked very well, as it was intended. There were always substantial air leaks when using the ABS setting for redirecting the air flow away from the part on the bed. I decided to redesign this fan deflector so that it is much more effective, while still maintaining the ability to switch from ABS to PLA settings ( air flow to or away from part) The result is much better than I had expected. The air flow in the ABS setting is almost still at the extruder nozzle, while still having substantial flow through the extruder cooler and away from the part. In the PLA setting, the full air flow is directed past the extruder cooling fins and toward the part. I also shortened the overall height of the Fan Deflector housing so that it is flush with the bottom of the original extruder hot end cover, as well as the redesigned extruder cover that I previously submitted. This part is intended to be made with the bottom oriented flat on the platform bed. Update - I deleted the original file and replaced it with a new file with some minor refinements to the Fan Deflector. The wall thickness was increased by .005", and the pivot shaft clearance was also increased by .005". Overall, slightly better action and stability. 11/23/19 - Added UP Plus Fan Deflector2.STL that is exactly the same as the updated file, but adds deflector position marks and "ABS" text for the closed position
