UPDATED E-stop knob, parametric-ish
thingiverse
This replacement knob fits standard push-on/pull-off switches and is utilized to control an ATX power-on line (pin 13 ground for activation). It's incorporated into my Printbot control panel project, still in progress. The switch originated from a local car accessories shop; interestingly, it was used as headlight switches in old cars without relays. Note that it does not meet safety switch requirements but is sufficient for 12/24VDC applications. In February 2013, I finished painting my print room and successfully printed some items, including a revised version (v0-4) of the knob with raised lettering and a wider diameter (17.5mm). Additionally, I improved print quality by adjusting slic3r retraction movement to 1mm. A tip for users: when working with write.scad, use 'include' instead of 'use' to avoid variable issues. To customize the knob, utilize the STL file or edit the SCAD file (requires HarlanDMii's write.scad). Suggestions include printing in red and blackening raised text or, for a challenge, layering red and another color below the recessed text.
