NEW model, the second version has a bit more grab to prevent it from coming loose. It needs to be printed with supports but they are tiny and only take a second to remove.

Instead of “pushing” into the spool, place it over the hole and give it a good whack as this will seat it better.

I love Polymaker filament and I love that they went to cardboard spools but I noticed it was a bit harder for the machine to pull out the filament as cardboard on plastic has a lot more friction that plastic on on plastic. I saw someone had created a hub to fix this but it was large (went all the way through the spool meeting in the middle) and I decided to make a simple design that could be quickly printed at little cost.

My design has small protrusions around the edge (second photo) that allows the hub to be pushed on but hold tight.

I made these for my Polymaker filament so I am not sure if it will fit other brands or not. Feel free to make and share but please no commercial use.
