This cup sits in/on a 8mm bearing of an upgraded z-axis assembly for a 3018 mini-mill or router, and supports the lead screw. This reduces axial shaft movement under load while preserving motion translation from the screw to the bearing. I created this because I had a lot of movement on the z axis when cutting aluminum with my comgrow robo cnc. The full weight of the spindle and spindle clamp were supported by the stepper motor. Now the weight is supported by the cup, and the motor has less axial force on it.
