Replaces the upper arm/bicep part with a new design that has an elbow joint. It does not offer very much rotation, but a little bit of elbow bend goes a long way to making these figures look a little less stiff. The forearms bump into the shoulder armour, if you leave those parts a little unscrewed you can push them out and get more movement. Rotating the forearms inward towards the body also allows a little more movement. You must take apart the waist/thighs first, then take apart the torso, to get to the arms.
