Upright Arcade Cabinet

Upright Arcade Cabinet

Being a child of the 70's, arcade games hold more for me than these xbox things... I've often thought about buying one - a real one - for home. I've looked at MAME cabinets and all sorts of options, but at the moment I've only got a little place with little space, so what I needed was a little arcade machine. I drew this up over the last couple of evenings in CorelDRAW. It stands about 130cm / 5" tall. Instructions Two files are included with this thing - one with the Space Invader artwork like in the photos, the other is completely blank - add your own!! Use 3mm Acrylic. Black lines - cut through (outside of box, coin slot etc.) Yellow lines - cut lightly (shadow effect on side of cabinet) Red lines - engrave (monsters on side of cabinet & playfield) It's a bit of a puzzle to put together - there's 12 pieces. My only suggestion is check twice before glueing! (Yes, my first go at assembly ended up with a piece around the wrong way and a gap lol) The artwork is designed to be on the inside of the cabinet - if you're going to make one of these out of MDF or similar, flip the artwork at least on the screen, otherwise it will be mirrored. Oh!! And don't glue the top on - then you won't get your coins out again! Edit I've uploaded a larger file to suit 1/4" by request. This will give you a cabinet that's 11" tall however I don't have any 1/4" so haven't yet tested it. Comments/Feedback on the upscale would be appreciated!
