UR65 US65 Large Battery Bay

thingiverse

I was looking for a battery bay for my larger batteries for this quad and while I found a number of them that were close, none clicked all the boxes for me. The joy of 3D Printing is that you really CAN have it YOUR way! I got my best inspiration from these two designs: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3207968 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3032981 I sliced and dices parts of each of these (and others), combined those parts and then sliced/diced/added until I came up with this. Just a quick note, I found that upping the Throttle MID to 0.70 and adjusting the Throttle EXPO to 0.42 makes this quad sing even with the larger batteries! If there are any updates/questions/whatever, any discussion will be on my blog on RCGroups. The specific thread is here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3207437-UR65-US65-Large-Battery-Bay-3D-Printed Added a pic showing how to hold the stock battery in place in this bay using a simple rubber band. Tip: The easiest way to attach the bay to the quad (after cutting off the original battery bay, is to insert a large battery into this bay and then simply push the bay on paying close attention to keep it parallel while you're pushing it on. The pins are at their weakest while you're pushing it on. Once they're in, the whole setup is plenty strong.
