US 8-axle Heavy Duty Flat Car - 1/32 - Gauge I -OpenRailway

It's a scale model (1/32) of a 4 truck, 8 axle flat car suited for 45mm tracks (Gauge I). These cars are used in North America to move big and heavy loads. Having 8 axles on the car helps to spread the weight on the rails. With the trucks mounted on rotating beams, this car can take very tight curves (tested on 600 mm radius curves). Print Settings Printer: Vertex K8400 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 and 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: Everything is printed in ABS using a 3D adhesive spray on a heated bed (100°). I find it easier to glue (with PVC glue). You can also print it in PLA as most of the parts are screwed together. Small parts can be glued with super glue. The central beam needs support to be printed so I've cut it in 2 to print it without support (the 2 parts are glued together). Post-Printing You'll need to print four trucks : I've already published them on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1803630) and have not included the files here.. The three parts of the flat bed can be glued (use small chunks of filament in the holes to align the parts) or bolted with 2 mm bolts and nuts (4 needed). The Brake platform (03) is fixed with 3x8 mm screws as is the central beam (04) on the bed. You'll have to glue the Brake Wheel Stand (09) and its various parts. Same goes for the grab irons and the ladders. There's a spacer (06) you'll have to glue on the truck bolster. I's needed to adjust the height of the car. I've designed a knuckle coupler with gearbox you can use for this car :http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1908821 You can also use Kadee couplers (Model : 820 #1 scale with Draft gear box) but you'll need to insert a 2 mm thick spacer to get the coupler at the right height.
