This is a working robotic hand. You need to print the fingers with a flexible filament like NinjaFlex or any sort of TPU or Flexible plastic. The palm and thumb adapter should be printed in PLA/ABS/your regular plastic of choice. I used the Flexible PLA from hobbyking. To make the fingers move, you need to attach a cord (fishing line/thin wire) to the top of the finger and push it to the palm where you will attach it to a 9g servo motor (like tg9e). Each finger has a dedicated servo motor, and all 5 of them are located on the back of the palm. You must be careful to install them in the right order so they don't block the installation of the next one. You also need to insert a rod, 4mm in diameter, through the 4 fingers on the front. The thumb is mounted using the adjustable adapter, allowing you to adjust the angle at which it will operate. You will need a few M3, M4 and M8 bolts and nuts. Concerning electronics, there are many great tutorials on instructables.com about how to make hands like this work with PC or with a dedicated sensor glove. I designed this hand because most of the instructables require a lot of assembly and don't last very long. They stay in the bent position after afew bendings, whereas the 3d printed parts always tend to return to it's original form, depending on the material. Print Settings Printer: Turnigy Fabrikator Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm or more Infill: 25%+ Notes: The palm is designed to not need support on most standard printers, the fingers can be printed without support, but the inside will look ugly and the thumb adapter might need some support based on the orientation you choose to print it.
