This is a USA Flag per G-Specs and reduced to 3" x 1.65". It is a reverse image which can be used to make leather patches. There are a few things I have learned while stamping leather. 1. Purchase a good quality tooling leather. 2. Make your 3D print with at least a 3mm base and then make the impression image 2mm higher. Remember, it must be reversed (including the depth of the impression). 3. Soak and knead the leather for about 5 min in very warm water. 4. Use two, 1/2" thick steel plates for uniform pressure. I found that 1/4" steel can flex and make uneven results. 5. Press for 5 min using a 12 ton press (or more). A vise isn't quite as good. The 5 min time is perfect if soaking another piece of leather to repeat. I place a dry paper towel on the steel plate to keep the rust or metal color from staining the back of the leather. Then place the wet leather good side up. Then the stamp face down. Then the 2nd steel plate on the top. An example of stamped leather is included in the photos. I have not used the regular flag stamp yet but it will work the same.
