USB Connector Cap

USB Connector Cap

thingiverse

The sliding cover for my PNP thumb drive cracked and broke, so I made a new cap out of Ninjaflex. The first one fits any standard USP connector. It serves as a dust and dirt cover. This really needs to be made out of Ninjaflex or Filaflex or similar, hard plastic like PLA or ABS just isn't going to work very well. After I had made the cap, I noticed that the connector was still a little loose in the plastic housing, probably from riding around in my pocket all the time. So I made another version that covers the whole thumb drive all the way up to where the old sleeve used to slide to. This would only be suitable for this particular model of PNP thumb drive, whereas the smaller cover will work with all kinds of standard USB connectors. Instructions Like most all of our designs, this was made for 3D printing, however as noted in the origial description, it must be made of a flexible material like Ninjaflex or Filaflex.
