USB Cord Storage Organizers

USB Cord Storage Organizers

thingiverse

I needed a way to organize my cords that I have collected over the years and refused to get rid of because you never know when you will need 14 mini usb cords from 2007. I wanted them to not become tangled and I wanted to quickly know rough length and what connections were on the end. This is a simple design that seems to be an easy print. Infill only matters on the base, the walls are just 2 walls for the most part. I made 3 sizes to do most of what I needed. Most of my cables were in the ballpark of 3' or less, 6' and 10'+. One could assume that small, medium and large would correlate with the previous mentioned lengths. You may run into some flyers with abnormally thick cables but I'm sure you will figure it out. For sizing, I used the following (I used feet earlier and I'm switching to mm now....I know): small - 15 x 45 x 85 med - 18 x 45 x 110 large - 21 x 45 x 110 I have uploaded files for 1-6 openings. I'm hoping by now you can figure out 3 med is the medium size with 3 openings and 6 small is the small size with 6 openings. I tried to keep it as simple as possible but I have worked with some of you and you won't figure it out on the first shot. To get them to fit I wrapped the cords around 3 finger (not the thumb or pinky) for the small size and I wrapped the cords around 4 fingers (bring back the little pinky) for medium and large. My hands might not be the same size as yours so adjust as necessary, I really don't care if you decide to use your toes if that works. And before you even think about commenting about it....Yes I still have (3) 30pin iPod cables. I still use my iPod Touch to connect to my 15 year old Alpine headunit in the ManVan. I'm out here printing useful things but I don't have Bluetooth in the ManVan, I know it's weird. ----------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 1/2/23 The following files were fixed and reuploaded because I struggle to count to 6 2 med 3 med 6 med 4 small
