U-clip(you-clip) was developed as part of my exam about design ethnography. Over the past 2 months I've observed and interviewed a group of hackers in order to better understand hacker culture, with the objective of creating a personal effect that fits said culture. there are 3 variations: one for the AC cable(large) and one for the DC cable(medium) of a standard laptop charger, and one that's made with USB cables(small) in mind. It's a scalable and portable cable management system that allows hackers(or anybody else) to manage their cables. It doesn't force a specific person to clean up peoples mess, but rather encourages people to cooperate in order to keep the desk clean so you don't accidentally spill club-mate over your laptop. It results in more space for more people, and turns the table into a giant "circuit board" of cables. Unlike most cable management solutions, this system was designed to be portable in order to answer my assignment. it had to be a personal effect.(something that you carry around that you have an attachment to), so it's not the most practical solution, but it is one that gives your laptop chargers more personality. Over time I might add versions and nodes that work for more complex cable management.
