V-Core 3.1 XY Motor Decoupling Mod

thingiverse

This mod is intended to take lateral stress and belt tension away from XY motor shafts. By using steel rods that are mounted on both sides of the pulley with bearings, the rods will handle the belt tension, and the motor shafts are coupled to the rods using couplers. The Left/Right Motor Top Bearing will be a direct replacement of the original V-Core 3.1 Top Motor Cage. The brass inserts will be inserted to the Bottom Bearing Blocks, which will be mounted in place of where the XY motors used to be. The XY motors will be mounted onto the Left/Right XY Motor Mounts with M3x10mm bolts, and then mounted to the frame with M6x12mm bolts and 3030 T nuts. The 5mm to 5mm shaft couplers will couple the motor shafts and the rods together. NOTE: This mod is designed for V-Core 3.1, if you wish to use this mod for V-Core 3.0, please go to this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5360093 BOM: 4x 625RS/625ZZ bearings 2x 5mm steel rods, both cut to 60mm length 2x 5mm to 5mm shaft couplers, preferably solid 8x M3 4.5mm brass inserts 4x M6x12mm bolts 4x M6 3030 T nuts 4x M3x10mm bolts
