V Rising Sanguine Slashers

This is the Sanguine Slasher from the game "V Rising". The blade is about the same length as the Iron Sword and the Sanguine Sword (so about 80 cm / 31.8 in), but the blade is perpendicular to the handle instead of parallel. The model is life-size, so it has been cut up into pieces. I modeled the item in Maya 2022, using screenshots from the game and a blueprint I drew from those screenshots. --- INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE: 1: PRINTING Print out the Blade1 through Blade5, the Handle, and the Pommel. I also have an all-in-one file, but it takes a long time to print. All the pieces are all cut to fit within a 20 cm (8 in) cube. 2: ASSEMBLY Now that all the parts are printed, glue them together with epoxy or superglue. I find it easiest to lay out all the pieces in order before gluing them all together, so the order should be: Blade1 - Blade2 - Blade3 - Blade4 - Blade5 ------------------------------------Handle ------------------------------------Pommel I also recommend not gluing all the pieces together at the same time, instead do them in groups like glue Blade1 to Blade2, Blade3 to Blade4, etc, and then glue the new larger pieces together after the first round of gluing has hardened. 3: PAINT Once the item has been completely glued together, you can apply a few coats of primer before painting, or just skip straight to the paint. I personally like to use spray paint with the primer, and then touch it up as needed with paintbrushes. 4: HAVE FUN Just don't hit anyone with it k? Hang it up on the wall, show it off to friends/family, leave it in the corner and let it collect dust...... whatever floats your boat. --- NOTES (ig this is more trivia/complaints than notes, but oh well) I started modeling this on the 16th and finished on the 19th. I had an easier time modeling this one than the Iron Slashers; I was afraid I would have some trouble with the curves on the blade but they weren't too bad. This summary box is even easier to make this time, most of it came from my previous post. Collage is starting next week (on the 24th to be exact), and I'm mega nervous about it. I will probably not have the time to make more things during the semester, so this will be my last post for a while. Why are you still listening to me ramble on? Go do the things you wanna do --- Q/A Q: Will you do more weapons from V Rising? A: No, this is probably the last one from V Rising. I really like the others too, especially the spear and the scythe, but I think they are too big to be entirely 3d printed. Q: Will you make "xyz" from "abc" game? A: Maybe, if it's really cool and not super hard to make. I will be off to school for a while though, so it might not happen right away.
