Vacuum Hose Pivoting Adapter

Vacuum Hose Pivoting Adapter

thingiverse

I wanted to use my vacuum cleaner for a simple dust extraction. I bought 4 meters of the cheapest vacuum hose and created this adapter to make it fit into my saw. The key feature of this adapter is an ability for the hose to pivot freely around the saw as I'm moving the saw along the cut. **Printing tips** To use it, you need to print three parts: - threaded insert, which should be screwed onto the hose - threaded cap, which is screwed onto the threaded insert - tip, which is inserted into the power tool The threaded cap and the tip can be printed with no support. I've attached two versions of the threaded insert, one plain and one with embedded support (so you don't need to configure any support inside the slicer). The threaded insert is rather tight fit for my hose. If it is too tight for you, you can scale all parts a little bit, or use the attached OpenSCAD file and modify the part diameter by yourself. **Acknowledgments** I used [the excellent thread library by Dan Kirshner](https://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/).
