Vader Flake

Vader Flake

I wanted a Darth Vader snowflake to go with a set of these:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14677 Also inspired by these: mattersofgrey.com/diy-star-wars-snowflakes/ but looking at reference images too, I made a Darth Vader head in Draftsight, and also an accurate Empire logo for the centre. Instructions I made this for laser cutting. 4mm Acrylic or thinner seems to give the best results, as beam kerf means some of the internal lines are very thin and delicate. If your laser cutting software doesn't like vader-flake.dxf, try vader-flake-no-block.dxf. The former has blocks made from blocks, which I know NewlyDraw doesn't interpret properly (To edit in DraftSight, look up "Explode block"). In the latter file, each line is an individual entity. This is the one I've used successfully with a HPC laser.
