Vajro Aero Prescription Lens Adapter

Vajro Aero Prescription Lens Adapter

This is my design for a prescription lens adapter for the Varjo Aero. I presume it will also work with the Varjo VR-3, but I have not verified this. This is a relatively lightweight design for a prescription lens adapter. The base is very thin at 0.8 mm in order to avoid interfering with the Aero's auto IPD adjustment. Also, the lens itself is held in place using only 3 touch points in order to keep the adapter clear of the IR emitters that are used for eye tracking. Based on my brief testing, both auto IPD adjustment and eye tracking appear to work without issue when the adapters are installed. This adapter is also fairly low profile and has only been tested with my prescription, which is -1.75. It may work with higher prescriptions, but again, this has not been tested. I found it worked best to install the adapters on the Aero first, and then pop the lens into place. It can be a bit tricky not getting fingerprints on the lenses when you pop them in. I used a pair of cotton gloves that I use for handling photo prints to mitigate this. This adapter uses the Zenni Aviator Style lenses rather than the round Zenni lenses used by many other 3D printable lens adapters. The wider lens design worked better for supporting the lens without obstructing the eye tracking mechanism on the Aero. These also happen to be the same lenses used by the 3D printable adapter for the Pimax 8XK, just in case you happen to have those on hand. Here is the link to the lenses you'll need. https://www.zennioptical.com/p/full-rim-metal-alloy-with-spring-hinge/4189?skuId=418912 ___NOTE:__When you order lenses, you need to select an IPD of __65mm__ rather than your own individual IPD. This will ensure that the optical center of the Zenni lenses will align with the optical center of the Aero lenses when mounted in the adapters. The Aero auto-IPD mechanism will do all the work in getting the IPD properly adjusted._
