Valve Core Remover

Presta-only valve core remover. I finally got around to fixing the original issue thanks to a make by user cmh. I already knew it didn't work - but got lazy & never fixed it. I referenced: https://grabcad.com/library/presta-valve-1 https://grabcad.com/library/valve-core-tool-vc-1-1 Which are CADs done by Jared over at GrabCAD. Referenced the Stan's tool only for general body dimensions. I tried using my chain tool off a Topeak Ratchet Rocket on a removable valve core, & it works as claimed. I took this measurement (4.1 mm across the flats) & remade that in my SLDPRT model. Most other dimensions are non-critical to the function, so I left them as is. Update 7 Aug 18: I added 3 more STLs. In total, they cover the spectrum of 8, 10, 11, & 12 mm ODs on the interface head. Hopefully this will address strength problems. All other sections are hereby obsolete. How I Designed This The OD of the presta valve wrench flat area (excluding the wrench flats) is approximately 5.1 mm. The imaginary cylinder including this feature, up to the larger threaded length, is approximately 13.50 mm. So I made a cutout to clear this imaginary "presta valve wrench flats area", a cylinder of 5.1 * 1.15 = 5.87 mm x 15.50 mm (13.50 + 2 mm for clearance). The actual nominal wrench flats measure about 4.11 mm across, & a chain tool so happens to have "wrench jaws" spaced about 4.12 mm across which work perfectly to turn the valve core flats. Accounting for shrinkage & 3D printer dimensional tolerance, I made my "jaws" with a spacing/radius of 4.12/2 * 1.15 = 2.39 mm. Referenced the Stan's NoTubes Valve Core Remover Tool (http://www.notubes.com/Core-Remover-Tool-P350.aspx) for handle dimensions: 9.44 mm OD for handle (asked via email) 6.93 mm protrusion for valve core remover part 1.53 mm jaw ID-OD difference 1.97 mm jaw depth See the dimensions STL for the imported & scaled image for reference. Found out that a chain tool works fine for removing valve cores. http://www.notubes.com/Core-Remover-Tool-P350.aspx Used for general dimensions Updates 6 Feb 17: Might add extra ends like the Park Tool one (http://www.parktool.com/product/valve-core-tool-vc-1), but I'd need one of them first or dimensions from a kind stranger. Probably not going to buy one myself. 7 Feb 17: Added 1 mm fillets to the ends. 27 Feb 17: finally got around to test printing it. It's too big. Until I notify otherwise, I would try scaling it down a few percent or so. Old For posterity only; obsolete info below A valve core remover tool that sits axially concentric with a presta valve core, & features coarse knurls for grip. 7 Feb 17: By the way, these knurls are inscribed in a hex profile, the outer circle (furthest outside tips of the hexagon) of which measures 9.44 mm in diameter. You may be able to use a small wrench to turn it if you want. I don't imagine you would need that much torque though. Print it & tell me what happens. It works in my head, but I've never actually used one before. I checked some images of real ones to verify the design, but for some reason it's bothering me that it might not work.
