Maila Nurmi, the daughter of Finnish immigrant, was kwown in 1950s' as her Vampira character. She had her own TV series, The Vampira Show. At the time, she was seen with many Hollywood celebrities from James Dean to Marlon Brando. Vampira has said to be the first and original Goth. She also appeared in cult classic, worst movie ever made, Plan 9 from Outer Space by Ed Wood. Multitude of female horror characters since have borrowed something from iconic Vampira This figure is my vision of Vampira in a bit awkward pose as seen in many pictures of her.
