Vanguard Scope Adapter

Vanguard Scope Adapter

thingiverse

I have a Vanguard Endeavor spotting scope. I decided it would be nice to be able to attach a camera to the scope. Vanguard sells an adapter for that purpose but I decided to make one myself. The camera I decided to use is an original Sony RX100. This was already equipped with a Lensmate filter adapter which takes 49mm filters. This adapter screws on to the threads on the scope, and allows anything that takes 49mm filters to be attached. Other thread sizes could be adapted to 49mm or this could be remixed for different sizes. After using this, I came to the realization that it was way over built and much stronger and heavier than actually needed. V2 is the original version after dieting. Much lighter, less filament to print, and plenty strong for the purpose. Ot at least with the RX100 it's plenty strong. If I were going to hang a DSLR I might want it stronger.
