So, I noticed that some of the oil in my perfectlylegalherbalmedication cartridges was getting trapped away from the wick. This is a centrifuge disc fitted to the 11mm cartridges (hopefully) that holds the cartridges at a slight angle to maximize the amount recovered. The idea is to heat the cartridge a bit to make the oil a bit more fluid, then spin it so that the centripetal force pulls any remaining oil down to the bottom of the cartridge. I've sized it to fit the shaft of a small AC motor I had laying around (8mm, I hope). (pictures and such will be posted soon) Revision History: V 0.1 - Initial build. First time making anything in SCAD. Issues: Got diameter and radius confused. Caused everything to print WAY too big. Solutions: replace R with D in parts of code, tweak main centrifuge radius. V 0.2 - First revision. Important lessons learned. Also, I'm uploading the SCAD file, if anyone wants to see how I did it and tender advice (I'm sure there's a more efficient way to code it) Issues: Seems a bit big, I think I can optimize the size of this to print more quickly, but still be more than sufficient for the task. Solutions: Make it smaller... V 0.3 - Make smaller and more efficient to print ((I've made the STL, but haven't printed yet)) Issues: Solutions: Planned features: Vibration dampening (water-based harmonic balancer? Screws? Loose ball bearings in a channel?) Thoughts on water-based dampening - Maybe use a porous infill and just tip a couple grams of water and a pinch of boric acid in while it's printing?
