A flat support for ABS parts in an acetone vapor bath. Fits a wide-mouth Aldi salsa jar (71 mm opening). Added another version for smaller jars. Scale up or down in X/Y to fit your jar. Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 mm Infill: 20% Notes: Print in PLA or other non-acetone-soluble filament so it doesn't melt. After using this thing repeatedly I discovered that PLA will soften and warp also. Three hours is about the limit to keep it stiff. Allow it to fully dry before reuse. The small holes are for string or wire to lower the assembly into a jar and remove it. You only need a teaspoon of acetone to reach saturating vapor pressure in a jar. I've also used a glass bowl with an inverted glass plate on top. Acetone leaks from this arrangement about a teaspoon per hour. Use outside. Parts will have a nice sheen after just 30-60 minutes. Five hours or more will smooth them nicely, but also soften the plastic. Allow time for parts to harden while acetone evaporates. WARNING and DISCLAIMER Do NOT breathe acetone vapors.
