Vaporeon Rook Chess Piece

This is a project for my intro to 3d modeling class that was made last march. The goal was to design a chess piece that was assigned to us via a randomized generator. Then we combined this with another object that we brought in. I chose a plush form of vaporeon (the pokemon) as the fins and collar pieces were visually interesting to me. However, upon trying to texture this model there is some geometry in this that would not allow me to texture this more aesthetically. Even though this was a beginners project, it is still nice looking if one doesnt dig deep into the geometry. Hopefully I can improve with more intruction with Maya and other 3D programs.
