Variable Capacitor Extention Shaft

I found a need to extend the shaft of those cheap Chinese variable capacitors to make them more useful in my radio projects. So, here it is. You can extend the shaft to your own desired length. It is a good fit on my bag of VCs from China and has a hole to mount a knob with a screw straight through to the VC. Most VCs I have require a 2.5mm screw with a metric fine thread.. You can use this object in Tinker or whatever to create a HOLE in your knob of choice design for a perfect fit. Or change the outside diameter to 1/4" or 6.25mm for a knob with grub screws. I have made some quite fancy Art Deco knobs using this method. N.B: Don't use too long a screw as it can jamb up the internals, 2 or 3 mm of thread is enough into the VC. Good Luck ZL1***
