Variable holder for optical z-endstops for Prusas Mendel
thingiverse
This optical endstop holder ensures precise z-axis adjustment. The design concept is derived from Prusa's Mendel project (endstop-holder.scad) and shares similarities with "Vertical Adjustable Opto Z Endstop Holder" by LittleDangerous. To print, modify size parameters in the scad file according to your printer or use provided STL files: VzE_wheelV2.stl, VzE_holderV2.stl, and VzE_endstopV2.stl. Essential hardware includes 1x springs (5.4 mm x 17.5 mm), 7x M3 nuts, 1x 35 mm M3 HexBolt (fully threaded), 1x 40 mm M3 HexBolt (half threaded, half smooth), 1x 20 mm M3 HexBolt, and 2x 15 mm M3 HexBolts. Assemble following instructions, using a 3.0-3.2mm drill for endstop holes. Secure nuts on the holder part, grease the guiding bolt, and add washers. The V2.1 version features redesigned holder and wheel for better grip, improved bolt gliding, and added spring centering. For older designs, use VzE_plate_old.stl and VzE_v1_old.scad.
