NOTE: This is very much a work in progress, I am still working on how best to divide this for better printing. I'm still not happy with the teeth and mouth and it will need some work to get to come out right (the small teeth will not want to print with out a big scale up,and making them bigger looks weird), and I know it is not watertight yet as I work to correct cosmetic issues without loosing detail (general quick watertight options remove some key details). I am sharing this a little early to keep with my Friday release schedule and get feedback as I continue to improve this model throughout the weekend.

Thank you for your patience as I work to complete this model.

Check out my page: https://www.thingiverse.com/RyanTheMast/designs for several more Printable heroes and creatures.

For the Base I used elements of SexyCowLegs Velociraptor Skeleton Check out their page for more great designs https:///sexycowleg/about

Velociraptor (commonly shortened to "raptor") is one of the dinosaur genera most familiar to the general public due to its prominent role in the Jurassic Park motion picture series. In real life, however, Velociraptor was roughly the size of a turkey, considerably smaller than the approximately 2 m (7 ft) tall and 80 kg (180 lb) reptiles seen in the films (which were based on members of the related genus Deinonychus). Today, Velociraptor is well known to paleontologists, with over a dozen described fossil skeletons, the most of any dromaeosaurid.

Update ! Lifay64 https://www.thingiverse.com/lifay64/about and Justin87 https://www.thingiverse.com/Justin87/about, are the winners of this things First Make Awards! Please check out their pages for more great makes.

Update! 5/26/19 As requested by Griforok I uploaded a complete version with out a peg hole.

Update! 5/27/19 Based on feed back from Lifay64 and Justin87 i have made a version with a larger base to improve balance and a peg separate from the base so you can print the peg in vase mode to save on time.

If this proves popular, I will work on some other Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Creatures,as well as accessories and variants of this model if requested. I could possibly do things like battle wounds, dino-rider armor, a wall mountable bust, a jungle base. So Please post your makes, hit like, and provide feedback on what you would like to see in the comments.

Print Settings

Printer:

PancakeBot

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2mm layer height or better

Infill:

15%

Filament: PolyMaker Polysmooth PLA Jet Black

Notes:

Tail half does not need support, upper body will.
If you print the peg separate from the base you can do so in vase mode to save on time.

If you over-squish your first few layers it risks making the seam more visible so make sure your settings are right or use a raft.

Currently this is a a pretty difficult print (sorry), I am working to correct this, feel free to comment of your preferences, for example peg together, glue, many divisions ect..

How I Designed This

Scanned using the Einscan SP, then altered, enhanced, modified, and optimized in Meshmixer

I can not take full credit for this design as it is heavily based off of the photos shown and the REBOR Velociraptor Spring Heeled Jack 1:18 Scale Dinosaur Figurine, if you want to skip the print and own a high quality Raptor buy the REBOR Velociraptor Spring Heeled Jack 1:18 Scale Dinosaur Figurine

Category: Creatures
