Velocity stacks - Yamaha XT 600 For use on YDIS (Yamaha Duo Intake System) made by Teikei on model 43F. The XT600 is a single cylinder 600cc engine, it uses two carburettors, (yes two). The first is used up to half throttle and then both for half to full throttle, idea being that this set up is more efficient than one big carb! The two carbs are mounted fairly close together, (66mm centres, with an intake OD of 44mm), so any stacks or filters tend to clash in the middle. Hence these velocity stacks being made with a 15 degree tilt. The stacks have been modelled with an elliptical curve, so they should be efficient. The nearside stack has a 10mm tube to connect the engine breather pipe to. If no breather pipe is to be fixed then simply print two offside stacks. To fix use a 'Jubilee Clip' or similar to clamp onto the outside of the carb intake, (44mm dia), with maybe a bit of silicone to seal. May need to sand the inside for a smooth surface Printed in PET G 240 head, 75 bed Speed 50mm/sec Initial layer 20mm/sec It may be better to print in NYLON so as to give a higher Temperature tolerance, (although so far these PETG examples seem OK, I live in the UK - temps are never too high!)
