Vertex-H with Single E3D-v6 Hot-end
thingiverse
This is a remix of my Vertex-H printer published here. The goal was to design a lighter cartridge with a single hot-end and improve filament cooling air flow. Both fans used in this design are 30x30x10mm, included in the E3D-v6 kit. This design allows using the original PCB from Velleman; however, you may need to replace the resistor to ensure the E3D fan gets no more than 12V. I am including three versions of e3d_clip THING: one is simply fixing E3D in place, e3d_clip_fan addresses a known issue with E3D fan mount which often becomes loose, rotates, vibrates and makes extra noise, and e3d_clip_z-probe is designed for use with the z-probe from Aus3D. All parts can be printed with PLA; only the duct will need bed-only support. The design of e3d-v6_holder THING allows adjusting hot-end position along Z-axis, which is required to ensure the end of the nozzle is about 1mm below the duct. Here is a filament duct test recording https://youtu.be/nX1ghzlgRsg. Please note - a photo shows the carriage with a vertically mounted custom PCB and built-in X-stop sensor; other parts of shown carriage are identical to the one published here. Since I am not using the original PCB from Velleman, I did not print/test the top and bottom parts of the carriage. If you discover any issues with them, please let me know via Comments section and I will update STLs.
