Vertical Camera Copy Stand v2

Vertical Camera Copy Stand v2

This is a redesign of my earlier copy stand (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3785274) that uses Openbuilds V-slot mini-wheels and 688zz bearings because the smoothness of the old design's printed wheels was awful. This design also uses less filament and is easier to put together since the outer frame comes in two parts. BOM ==== In addition to the ~3kg of filament you'll need to print everything, there is hardware to buy as well. Hardware: Arm Gantry -------------------- * M8×65mm Button-Head Socket Screw × 4 * M8×60mm Countersunk Socket Screw × 12 * M8×35mm Button-Head Socket Screw × 2 * M8 Hex Nut (M8×6.4mm) × 12 * 1/4”×3/4” Countersunk Socket Screw × 2 * Openbuilds-style Mini V Wheel Shell × 16 * 688zz Ball Bearing × 32 * 120mm Arca-swiss clamp (the cheap ebay ones with 3 x 1/4" holes, each 30mm apart and a long clamping knob (eg. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/293050803785). Hardware: Stand & Arm --------------------- * C-Beam 4080 Extrusion×750mm × 2 * C-Beam 4080 Extrusion×1500mm × 1 * 2040 Extrusion×400mm × 2 * M5×10mm Screws × Lots * M5 T-nuts for 2020 Extrusion × Lots Printed Parts ------------- * Inner Shell × 2 * Outer Adj × 2 * Outer Fixed × 2 * Trim Panel × 4 * Adjustable Peg × 8 * 9mm Spacer × 4 * 3mm Spacer × 4 * 1mm Spacer × 8 * End Cap × 1 * Arca Swiss End × 1 * Teeth × 9 * Block × 2 * Right Angle Bracket × 4 to 6 Part Descriptions ============= Instructions in progress, but please feel free to grab the sketchup file and work it out for yourself. It's at 10x size because Sketchup seems to want to limit resolution on circles. Gantry Parts ----------------- - inner_frame.stl, outer_fixed.stl and outer_adj.stl are the central structure for the gantry. These must be printed twice. - wheel_spacers.stl contains the spacers and eccentric adjustable cams. Again, you will want two sets of these. - arca_clamp_end.stl is the end-piece for the arca-swiss clamp, designed for the cheap ebay ones with 3 x 1/4" holes, each 30mm apart (eg. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/293050803785). - end_cap.stl is simply an end cap so the camera arm can't escape. - outer_trim.stl is a trim plate to cover hole in the outer frame pieces if your bridges are ugly like mine. Motion "system" parts (don't laugh) ------------------------------ - teeth.stl are mounted on the inside of the C-beam with the flat sides pointing up. These engage with... - block.stl, so you can set the height of the gantry and the maximum extension of the camera arm. Extras --------- - usb_battery_pack_holder.stl holds by ancient Xiaomi USB battery bank. These are discontinued, but there are no doubt similar models that will fit. - right_angle_brace.stl is fairly self-exlpanatory. The base of my stand is a piece of C-beam with some old 2040 offcuts. The vertical column and side braces are held together with 4 of these.
