Vertical Mill with Auto Tool Changer

Vertical Mill with Auto Tool Changer

grabcad

My first attempt at a vertical mill combining an auto tool changer. This has been designed as a fully bolted construction, although in real life, I suspect a number of items would in fact be welded. There are no sensors included for the axis, as I presume servos would be used rather than open loop steppers. I have however included a bracket on the tool changer so that a positional sensor can be included.I intend to build this at some point, and when I do, I will include some photos. All suggestions for improvements (criticisms) are welcome.Update: Linear motion parts data have been obtained from Hiwin (rails and carriages), Automation Components UK (ball screw and supports), IGUS Drylin (tool changer linear rails), Jianken (Chinese Spindle manufacturer), sundry fixings from McMaster.
