UPDATED: new files for more even leg length, added indicator for longer side screw distance (triangle).

(see cover for Se-450-24: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2556126)

I replaced my stock Taz power supply with a Mean Well SE-450-24.

The venting side of the power supply has large holes that would be easy for small screws or whatever to enter through, so I like to turn the power supply vertically and the fan pointing away from my printer bed (to avoid the added draft with ABS). To make it more stable when standing vertically, I added a stabilizing stand/feet.

There are two different designs required; one to miss the end cover and one for the opposite side. The ones shown here are done in PLA to match the cover. You will need four M4X16mm long cap screw and washers (available at HomeDepot), I did not want to drive 12 miles to HD and had some hex head M4x16mm screws and just used a hacksaw to make a slot in the head so I could use a flat blade screw driver. The M4 washers I used are about .5mm thick and less than 5.5mm in outside diameter.

This design should work for most power supplies that are 50mm tall and have four inserts on the side that are 25mm apart. Note that the insert closest to the side with no vent holes should be 13.3mm to the side, whereas the one on top is 12.3 mm to the vented side. If you have trouble getting the screws started try flipping the stands 180 degrees, or measure first to determine which insert is farther from the edge. NOTE: THE SIDE WITH THE LONGER SCREW DISTANCE HAS A TRIANGLE ON THE FOOT.

I added some small strips of rubber drawer liner which reduces the noise a bit and adds friction so it will not slide. Just used Elmer's High Strength glue stick to attach the liner pieces.
Category: 3D Printer Parts
