Vice Grip Hood Ornament

Vice Grip Hood Ornament

thingiverse

3D Recreation of the vice grip hood ornament as seen on wired.com. Tongue prints separately and should slot in with a touch of adhesive Not yet engineered to actually be mounted on a car. Present version designed as desk ornament; I'd recommend padding under and using mounting tape etc. (The base is curved at present for aesthetics and to approximate what I think a car hood does.) Alternate versions available: 1. Base screws removed and replaced with pilot holes if you wanted to actually screw it to something. 2. Base entirely removed so you can mount it how you like. The feet are solid so you might consider drilling them in and epoxy in metal threaded inserts for proper mounting 3. Separated spring part for ease of printing Versions/additions coming: 1. Flat Base and flat baseless version 2. Thicker Base that can be printed and strong enough to mount on car maybe? Even if the mounting is solid, the ornament itself would still be weak if printed in plastic Open to suggestions for ease of printing/mounting engineering or anything, and happy to update the model myself!
