Victorian Hurricane Nightlight

To compliment a previous make I wanted to pair a nightlight with it. Seeing the Victorian Hurricane Lamp and the RemixChallenge, the creative planets aligned! I included an earlier version, nightshade-spire2.stl, which has all the original design windows. It obstructs the sensor but may work in a well-lighted area. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX v2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20mm Infill: 20% Notes: The prints above used BlackMagic3D Blue Glow PLA, eSun Green PETG, BlackMagic3D Antigue Bronze PLA, and, Proto-Pasta Cinnamon HTPLA. How I Designed This The Journey I used a combination of Tinkercad and Meshmixer for the tools. Meshmixer to convert the solid lamp to hollow, remove the existing windows and top fencing, and clean up any meshes that were broken along the way. Tinkercad for assembly features, new fencing and windows, and plane slicing. I went with my own windows so I could align the way I like and make the front window the same for consistency. Since the size was decreased approximately 50% of the original, the fencing didn't print very well for me so I designed some new, thicker fencing. Originally, I was just going to leave off the bottom of the lamp and go with just the top and spire. After a few failed prints on attempting to bridge a top on the top, I noticed after cutting off the top layers and leaving it open that it would work for the bottom. Eureka! I could make the bottom convertible by using magnets to allow removal when a cord needs access. If the cord is right-angle the bottom shade hides the plug entirely! Demonstration https://youtu.be/mnQRzZvKa9E Parts I bought the night lights at a local Menards. I used four Rare Earth 3/8 in. x 1/16 in. Disc Magnets and some super glue. Assembly Take two magnets and glue them in the sockets of the bottom. I recommend placing two magnets on the adjacent side to hold them in place (if you don't hold them they will attract and hop out of their slots). This will also come in handy on the next step. Making sure you have the right orientation, glue the remaining two magnets in the slots on the spire. The top snaps into place, but I found a couple dabs of glue may still be required to make it solid especially if you think the bottom may be removed frequently. The night light just slides into place; no gluing necessary. Does it work?!?! Yes! I have a witness!
