Vintage Star Wars Figure Base

Vintage Star Wars Figure Base

thingiverse

A simple base for your vintage Kenner Star Wars figures. I have a number of the old Star Wars figures like from when I was a kid that I have always wanted to display. Finding bases for them is difficult, mostly because there are a growing number of people who think the ones from the 90s are vintage, and the hole in the bottom of the foot is a different size. So I made my own. UPDATE: I've added another base here. This one is larger and will hold two vintage Kenner Star Wars figures together. Those pairs like C3PO and R2. UPDATE (AGAIN): I've added to more STL files, a single base X 4 and a double base X 2. So that if you want to print a few, this should reduce time. Print Settings Printer: M3D Micro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 250 microns Infill: Low Notes: I used wave bonding with this print (partly because I have been having difficulty removing the raft with M3D's ABS-R) which is more than sufficient for such a small thing. Post-Printing It turned out just the way I had hoped it would. The button fits in the foot snugly and easily holds the figure in any pose without tipping. How I Designed This Design wasn't overly difficult - it's just a thin shape with a little button on top. I did search and found another thing by LITHINES with various bases (they look great), however, when I downloaded and opened the STL file, there didn't seem to be anything there. When I tried opening them in Sketchup, again nothing. I have since read in the comments on that thing that the things where so tiny when opened in some programs they were virtually nonexistent. But this seems to depend on the software you are using. When I couldn't find the model, I decided to make my own from scratch. It's plain, but I like it. But you might also want to check out LITHINES' bases here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:956710
