Vinyl Plank Flooring Spacer

Vinyl Plank Flooring Spacer

While installing vinyl plank flooring, I found the typical "wedges" that you tape to the wall to be rather cumbersome. I saw some other spacers that sat on top of the flooring to hold it in place better, so I use that basic concept to design these. These were used on flooring that measured a total of 5mm thick. The larger side of the spacer is 6.8mm. The smaller is 2.4mm. Total depth from the wall across the tile surface is 48.8mm and it runs along the wall for 39.98mm. You can stretch the model on the X axis if you need spacing larger or smaller than this. You can stretch the model on the Y axis if you have thicker or thinner flooring. You could stretch the Z axis if you wanted more width along the wall, but I don't see a reason you would need to. By orienting it on its side from printing, you don't need any support. I printed these on "Coarse" (0.4mm) layer height. I just used 2% infil as the walls really handle most of the stress, which will be perpendicular to the layer lines. I printed using PLA+, but regular PLA would likely be fine.
