Vinyl Record Sleeve Clip

Vinyl Record Sleeve Clip

thingiverse

This is a simple small clip meant to keep the sleeve of a vinyl record from spreading out when in the upright position. It can be printed in any color to match the sleeve. I had originally downloaded a remix of this vinyl hanger: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1631177 Upon installing the hangers, I was consistently having an issue where the sleeve of the record would spread out, looking bad, damaging the vinyl sleeve over a period of time, and often causing the vinyl to fall off the hanger because of the spreading. This was especially the case with double and triple LPs I have. This clip stiffens the sleeve and prevents it from spreading and bulging. You can use two at a time for an even more secure fit. The inside width is 7mm, as I believe this fits almost all records without being too tight to cause damage but still having enough tension to be held in place. It is a little tight on triple LPs, but you could always scale the Z-axis up a few MM in your preferred slicer. Print this on its side with rafts, as shown in the 4th picture. I have had successful prints without a raft, but with this only having 1mm walls, it likes to warp, especially when printing more than one at a time. Supports are not needed but may give the rounded edges a smoother look. I suggest printing this slow (30mm/s) to prevent warping. This is my first design and as such, revisions may come in the future.
