Vinyl Record Weight / Stabilizer

Vinyl Record Weight / Stabilizer

My first version of a standard 12 inch (33 1/3 RPM) record weight (and/or stabilizer). Since I didn't see any designs I thought I'd make my own. Record Weights are believed to help reduce external vibrations from speakers, help flatten warped records, and of course, adds a little eye candy to your rig! All printers print slightly different so use the "penny tester" STL to make sure the scaling % is right to make pennies fit before printing everything. SPECS: -6 internal compartments to add US pennies to create desired weight. Recommend using a scale to find your preferred weight. -Spindle hole is sized slightly larger than my spindle just to make sure it fits all turntables. -Outer diameter is sized to add clearance for most of the larger style needles when vinyl has ended (see photo). -The weight height should fit in most turntables with the dust lid closed. If its too tall (or too short), simply change the Z scaling %. RECOMMENDATIONS: -Print walls 2 layers thick and have supports enabled for under the lid. Sized for a smooth print with a 0.4mm nozzle. -Add rubber or felt to the bottom of the weight to keep it from scratching your vinyl label. This is the first version, and I'm open for suggestions. Thinking about making it fit 45 RPM vinyls in the future. Thanks! And Print On!
