Vive Pro 2 Headstrap no-stop mod

With the Vive Pro 2, I have the issue, by slide the strap fully down my back of my head, it's stopping to early, to be comfortable for my shape of my head. In my opinion, it needed just a little bit more space of rotation down my back of my head. So I've created this mod, to remove and prevent the headstrap rotation of the Vive Pro 2 from stopping at the angle of 180°. So it can be bent over infinite and with more than 180°. ATTENTION! Please note, this mod will probably void your warranty and can damange your HMD. Only do it, if you know what your are doing :-) Please do it at your own risk! Please also note, if you are using the built-in earphones, you need to also modify the headphone cable and expand it, as it's going to be too short, when bending the headstrap more than 180°. Otherwise, the cable will become too tight and will tear/crack! For this mod, you need to replace the inserts and add an addtional spacer ring. So please print each part twice. Use the following guidelines: 1. Remove the foam inside the headstrap, which covers the earphones screws 2. Remove the squared black rubber part, which covers the headphones connectors and pull off the plug gently. They are pressed into the connector from the top. 3. Remove the adhesive strips, which hold the cables of the earphones in place. 3. Then remove the screw of the hinge, inside the HMD (it's a Torx T-6). Please consider to cover the lenses with some soft towel or orginial paper cover before, to prevent the lenses from scratches! 4. Pull the Headstrap gently out of it's rotation hinges and take care of the cable, which will automatically slide out of the headstrap. 5. Remove the insert and replace it with the 3D printed one. If the screw will not fit slightly, use a drill bit with ~2.4mm diameter. I've used mine from a Dremel. 6. Add the spacer ring. 7. Then do all steps backwards, and don't forget to thread the eaphone cable back to the headstrap. When attaching back the headstrap, please rotate also the 3D printed inserts, till they are fully snap into it's final position. 8. IMPORTANT! If you going to use the original earphones, you need to extend the earphone cables. To do so, you can just solder extensions cables in between (1-2cm should be enough). I didn't wanted to cut the cables, to keep the Vive as orginial as possible and to be able to revert everything back to it's original. So I remembered, I saw these kind of connector already at my MacBook Pro (early 2011), for the Fans. And it turned out, they are fit perfectly! So I've desoldered the plugs and cut the connectors of the fans, to create an extension cable by myself. You will also find these plugs as spare-parts, if you are looking for "4 pin fan connector macbook A1286" for example at ebay or aliexpress. Finally, I've also used heatshrink tubes, to protect the connection of the cable. In my case, it makes the HMD much more comfortable to wear now, as the HMD is not stopping anymore at 180° fix! Maybe it will fit also the Vive Pro 1, but I don't own one, so I cannot tell. Printing: Parts were printed with a Prusa i3 MK3S, PLA, default 0.20mm SPEED print settings: - 0.20mm layer high - 20% infill For the insert part, I've used modified support, with pattern spacing of 3mm, to remove support easier
