VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Brake Lever

VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Brake Lever

This is a brake lever mod I made for the VKB Gladiator NXT/EVO stick. It is based on a Virpil lever created by Joker_G. I used his lever and a small section of where the lever and potentiometer connect, the rest I designed into his part. Although not perfect since I knew absolutely nothing of 3D design but it works, functions and well and doesnt look bad for a first attempt in TinkerCad. The pot cover could use some more work but it works for now. I may correct later. EDIT: I cleaned up the pot cover file but still left the old version in. New file is labeled as Pot Cover v2. I havent printed this part yet but should work, thats why I have left the original file. Also there are 2 different levers to use, one for right hand sticks and one for left hand stick. On the mount ring that slips over the grip base, I left a cutout for anyone that uses the screw to lockout the grip twist As for how you wire that its entirely up to you. Arduino will work great. There are other ways to connect this but I will leave those out as I do not want to be responsible for and DEAD sticks. Designed in TinkerCad and Cura 5.2.2 Printed with Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and PLA Parts List: x3 M3-20 Screws x1 M3-30 Screw x2 M3 Nylon Lock Nut x1 Spring (used a spring from pen) x1 Potentiometer I used these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016UFFZEY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Installation: 1. Remove the bottom plate 2. Remove the 2 allen head screws that hold the grip into the base 3.Disconnect the grip wire and remove the grip. 4.Remove the 2 screws that hold the palm rest of grip 5.Slip the mount over the lower part of the grip shaft and push all the way against the base of the pam rest of the grip. It will be a snug fit but not enough to hold onto shaft during use. Note: this was done because if too much pressure is applied around the base of the shaft it will hinder the twist axis. 6.Use 2 of the M3-20 screws and secure the mount into the original holes of the palm rest. 7.Fit the potentiometer into the left side of the mount as shown then secure with the nut provided with pot. 8. Press the lever onto the shaft of the pot, it will press fit. Before pressing pot in turn the pot to its max range forwards, away from the grip. You may need to adjust the pot range by removing the lever again until you have the right amount of turning range. 9. Now install the flat side piece. Install the last M3-20 screw into the hole closest to grip. Pressure needed here isnt really an issue. 10.After the pot is wired into the other side part over the pot, use the M3-30 screw and a Nylon Lock Nut thru the to the other side. Note: The nylon lock nut is used because if you tighten this scre too much and will keep the lever from moving freely. So work the lever and tighten/loosen that screw until it moves freely.
