Volkswagen VW Golf MK5 R32 badge

This is a replica badge that i designed for my VW MK5 R32 Golf. I bought a replacement black badge online but is was absolute shite (eBay strikes again) so thought i'd make my own. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .18 Infill: 100 Notes: I printed it upright as it give a smoother finish, however this does make the badge not as strong as printing it flat on the bed. It also uses far less support material when printing upright. For some reason Simplyfy3D does not properly display/print this badge. FlashPrint & ReplicatorG slice and support the model perfectly. Post-Printing For the ABS version i used acetone vapor for around an hour, this seem to be just enough to smooth out the layers and give nice gloss finish. I also used acetone on the red PLA version, this didn't smooth out the layers but did add a shine to it, almost looked like a candied badge! I didn't add the badge clips in the design so using some sticky-back foam strips works very well. Strong enough to hold on the car but not too tough remove if desired. How I Designed This I used 3DS MAX to design this badge. I took measurements of my orginal badge using a caliper, the only thing that is not exactly the same is the clips on the back, i opted for a smooth back and just used sticky pads to hold it on the car. re-uploaded in HD!
