CAUTION _ READ BEFORE PROCEEDING! This regulator and stepdown controller works, HOWEVER, do not drop voltage to 12 V for fans or whatever you want to power AND use the USB port to power USB DEVICES ThiS WILL FRY YOUR USB DEVICES SUCH AS YOUR PI!!! I checked the voltage coming out from the USB connection and 12v it shows 7v out of USB at .4 amp. This will wipe out your pi and other devices!! I will not be responsible for your doings. Please take warning that you MUST DROP VOLTAGE ON THE READOUT TO 5.0V OR ABOUT, otherwise YOU WILL FRY YOUR DEVICESQ I designed this box for the BTE13-001 step down regulator. I'm currently using it in my FlashForge Creator Pro printer to not only supply power to my raspberry pi (since this regulator has a USB port that supplies 1A of output) but also power some auxiliary fans for evacuating the build chamber of heat and/or fumes. I put slots in the top of the lid for obvious reasons, to allow air to circulate a little. These guys don't need heatsinks unless your drawing close to 10W, then you do need to add a heat sink. Eventually I may remake the case and integrate a 40mm fan, or even smaller of a fan to the case just for added security. The round hole close to the center of the box, is to allow you to adjust the linear voltage of the regulator. Use a small eye glass repair screw driver (flat head) to adjust it. Due to these being mass produced in china, there is a possibility that some things may not line up right. For example when I got mine, the LED read out was cocked at an angle so I heated it up and straightened it. Same with USB port and the orange output plug. I have a second one that the barrel jack wasn't lined up straight either. So if it doesn't fit, try to reheat the solder and re align. If its too far off let me know I can make adjustments. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Whatever blows your skirt up Infill: 10% Notes: Print as is on the bed. Nothing special needed. You will need some screws, I used stainless m3x24mm and they fit perfectly.
