Old Volvos never die, but you might die of thirst inside one! Here is a clip on cup holder for a Volvo 240. The clips hold onto the little tray above the hazard light/cigarette lighter/air con switch. It's intentionally a tight fit and needs a little persistence, patience, and force to get them into place - I find that pushing a thumb into the curved bottom edge of the tray while forcing the clip to rotate into position does the trick. I'm not sure that makes sense, so am very happy to expand on it if anyone needs clarification. The clips are pretty tough, so I had no problems getting them into place once I overcame my fears that I'd snap them. Instructions I printed with triple shells, 0.27mm layers, 10% infil, printed flat. On a prototype I printed the clips vertically, but the layers delaminated too easily when being attached, so a flat print is much stronger and I've eliminated overhangs. I also assembled the cup holder before installing into the car, but I suppose you could put it together after the clips have been seated... but that seems trickier to me than getting two clips on simultaneously since the tabs are a pretty tight fit.
