# UPDATE - 09.04.2020 # Improved design slightly. Added tool for easy removal of 3D printed caps from the wheelnut. Old STL-file replaced with new ones in the download. If you would like to print caps with contrast/color letters like in the new pictures, do this by adding pause during print in your slicer, and change filament: Pause 1 at 0.5mm Pause 2 at 1.0mm This will make caps with first 0.5mm "color A", then 0.5mm "color B" for contrast, and then continue the rest with "color A". ________________________________________________________ # Wheelnut Cap Replacement for Volvo # My Volvo V40 R-design (MY13) had these original wheelnuts with a stainless steelcap over them. They are not supposed to come off since they are pressfitted on the wheelnut at the factory. Its a common problem they fall off after a while. Didnt look good with several caps missing, so i designed some replacement caps that snaps onto the groove in the original wheelnut, and replaced all of the steel caps. The nut itself is 18mm, and with the stainless steel cap on 19mm. On later models Volvo replaced these steel caps with plastic ones. I printed the Caps with black and blue PLA, no support, 0.18 resolution, 2 perimiter shells, and 0% infill. Orient them with the "R" down on the printbed. They snaps on perfect directly from my printer. If it doesent fit snug enough from your printer, try making minor scale adjustments. The tool is printed at 0.25 resolution, 2 perimiter shells and 100% infill.
